Contract and Collaborative Research
Edkal with its group company Sami Labs, has facilities for manufacturing of Probiotics, enzymes and therapeutic proteins by fermentation process. The group can undertake technology transfer of biological products manufactured by fermentation or biotransformation that has cleared at least Phase-1 Clinical Trials.

- Biotechnology Plant for production of Probiotics, Enzymes. Facilities include:
- Fermenters (starting from 1 litre up to 1400 litre Production scale operation)
- High speed continuous centrifuge for biomass separation
- Spray drier
- Freeze drier
- Sonicator
- Ultra filtration & Micro filtration systems for product concentration
In addition to the above we also have facility for extraction using Super Critical Fluid Extraction process (SCFE) using Liquid Carbon dioxide.
